An increasing number of people see that there is a dark pall of evil that is hanging over our rapidly changing world.
Right is said to be wrong. Wrong is portrayed as right. Deceit and lies permeate the fabric of society. Violence and degeneracy abound.
Wars are increasing. Everything seems upside down. It is hard to exaggerate the seriousness of the state the world is in.
We should not be surprised. The outcome of rejecting God and truth has always been seen in things such as unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, envy, murder, deceit, pride, boasting and a lack of natural affection. Bible passages that speak of such things read like a social commentary on modern Scotland.
This all starts with the individual, of course.
‘The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked’ is the divine diagnosis (The Bible: Jeremiah 17:9)
Jesus said that
“from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness” (Mark 7:21-22).
NONE OF US IS GUILTLESS.
In such a world, and for such individuals, the truth of the Christian gospel stands unchanged and unchanging. Its message of love, mercy, redemption and new life in the Lord Jesus Christ is as trustworthy and transforming as ever.
To this end,
“Christ Jesus gave Himself a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:6).
This is the moment to consider life’s biggest question. Take this opportunity to do so!
You would be made most welcome at these gospel meetings
